I have a question for the Paperboy owners here.....

What sound board do you guys have installed in your machine? I keep seeing some machines with Audio2 boards installed and some with AR3. I thought all Paperboy's came from the factory with an AR3,am I wrong?

I have an ARIII B. I believe that Paperboy came from the factory with the ARIII's. I am not sure what the difference is between the II and III's.

Yes, my Paperboy does have a switcher.

As does mine. I can't figure out why your game has an audio II with a switcher lol Here is my setup, where is your audio 2 board installed in the cabinet?

Mine has a switcher, and the Audio II board. The Audio II is installed behind the upper coin door on mine (don't know if that's standard)

You have any pics showing how it's wired up? I am extremely curious to see how you guys with Audio II's have them setup.

None handy, but I should be able to take a picture tonight or tomorrow.

So after doing some research this morning I noticed that Atari made two variations of the ARIII. One has the volume knob on the board itself, the other has no knob and is mounted on the shelf behind the coindoor

Mine is setup exactly as yours (a door full of PCB's and then the ARIII) and my volume knob is behind the coin door. Does this mean I can go ahead and put an ARII in there? My III is shot and I want to either rebuild or replace, but haven't ben able to find a good working III.

From what I have read the small version of the ARII will work but I have no idea how it is wired to run. I have asked 2-3 members to get me pictures of the ARII wiring setup for Paperboy but no one is coming through with them. I have an ARII that I want to try on mine myself to find out if my ARIII is dead.

Thank you sir!! Now we just have to figure out how to install it. IE: which wires go where? Do you have the original manual with yours and if so in the parts pictures does it show an ARII installed? I'm wondering if this ARII was installed in the first production run of the game and later switched over to ARIII, or vise versa.

Right now my game's down at Norwescon, so I won't have access to it again until Sunday after the convention's over.
