This stupid game... which I love... is harder than hell to keep running.

So tonight we're playing and the monitor just flickers and goes very dark... almost to the point of being off.

It has to be a power supply issue, but I just rebuilt the thing about a month or so ago.

The connector from the transformer on the G80 felt very warm.

I'm guessing, if I let her cool, she'll be fine in the morning.

This game is so frustrating! But I love it, so...

Any suggestions?

I am not very far from where you are at..55434 is where I am currently at. I would bet that is just a dirty connector causing the heat issues. I would try to clean connectors and verify the voltages on the chips.

It might also be the monitor is going bad and I don't really know much about them or care to.

I think the monitor is fine, I just did a cap kit on it. I've seen this sort of problem before when the power supply goes. You may be right. Might have some oxidation on the connectors. I'll clean 'em when I get back into town and fire her up again.
