I lost an auction on a dedicated Ghosts N' Goblins tonight for a final bid of like $143.00 - probably needed a monitor. GRRRR!!!

I feel you brother!

My computer has been freezing on me and I have lost the past 3 of 5 auctions due to it locking up.

About a month ago it froze on me with 19 minutes to go and I re-booted it only to get to the auction with under a minute to go and it locked up again. I cannot believe I did not throw this thing out my window that day.

I don't bid on auctions anymore - well, I might place a small, low bid to ensure that my bid will be accepted. Then I register my highest price using a bid sniping program (I use auctionstealer - it's free).

This way you don't drive the price up by starting a bidding war and you will win it for your price or not get it.

Good for buyers - bad for sellers.......

too many americans seem to think they are paying far too much for cabs, cos thats the impression i get when i read a lot of threads.picked up a cab for $100 and then get responses where people say they wouldnt have payed much more than that themselves.if you couldnt put a bid in for $500 and got outbid by a few $'s then you are tight and skingy.

we are lucky to find an empty cab with nothing inside never mind a faulty one.

the best thing is,your cabs are cheap cos noone seems to want to spend big bucks on them, you think you got a bargain, you go to resell and you are dealing with the same people who dont want to spend money, hence not much appreciation if any at all.

I saw that auction. You should have bid like, $155 or something. It's just $15 and it gets you over the hump.

This is why there are sniping services.

I hate that, thats why I dont use Ebay anymore.

Maybe I should sign up for the snipe when I really need something. Like when I lost out on a drom for a laser printer. The company that one it has won 192 auctions with 192 bids all placed in the last minute of an auction.

A way around this would be to extend the time of the auction 5 minutes everytime someone places another bid in the last 2 minutes.

I look at eBay as a market place, not a bargain bin. If you're willing to pay between fair market value and top dollar for items, you usually get them. And sometimes you get a deal.

I buy and sell on ebay. I have no problem with auction sniping as a seller or a buyer. If you want something, then put in a bid that you are willing to spend. If you win then great, if not why are you mad that someone else was willing to pay more for it? The great thing about ebay is that if you put in a large bid, they will bid on your behalf. Point is, if you want something figure out what you are willing to pay for it and enter a bid, don't be so concerned about what someone else is willing to pay.

That did sell for a good price. I forgot about that auction and it ended before I bid. I have not won the last seven auctions I have bid on though.

Thats just the way this group is. Fact is that outside of KLOV or even RGVAC there are plenty of people (Americans included) that are more then happy to pay an average price for games.

Were just a bunch of cheapskates in here! LOL!

Send some of those sucke...er...I mean customers my way!

I don't see anything wrong with sniping personally - I don't have a program do it - but if you're willing to pay it - you're willing to pay it. No different than a live auction - instead of a guy and a microphone it's a timer.

i got outbid on a asteroids cabaret by £5 the other day.it was unknown fault and i put a bid in of £250,it was won for £255.it ended at 8am,i was still in bed,it was at £174 when i went to bed at 2am,so i put £250 max bid.

how much can you lot pick up atseroids cabaret non working, unknown fault for.covert £255 to dollars.

says it all realy.that cab when working,if it had a ar recap, board repair and transport costs to pick up is going to be well over £400,convert that to dollars and thats the way it is here in uk.

ebay is full of jamma cabs and crap and all expensive realy, some things are just ridiculously priced.

you lucky you got the oppurtunity and get to peruse the 1,000's pages of arcade goodness,we get s**te all here in uk.

i payed £400 couple days ago for centipede upright, from private seller through forum elsewhere, still needs work but,its working, had swelling front kick plate area due to water damage.

I don't know why anyone would bid anymore instead of using a sniping service. You don't have to be at your computer and you don't drive the price up. I've saved so much money like this...it's just technology getting better =P Just like why we use Paypal instead of money orders at the bank like I used to do for auctions.

WOW - Sometimes, complaining like a baby pays off - my bidding competition is a member here. The deal didn't work for him with the seller - seller backed out on shipping the parts from the machine to him. User was nice enough to contact me and offer it to me, I talked to the seller and worked out a deal.

Going to pick up a DKjr. and Ghosts N Goblins tomorrow.

I love this place.
