I hate getting so attached to these things.

I bought my first Ms. Pac in 2006, drove up to NYC get it. Spent the next 20 years trying to keep her alive. She'd been abused long before I got her, but I remember my utmost dedication to having a Ms. Pac in my house. It was mandatory.

I acquired a much nicer, and more stable one, from @Terry68Firebird, last month, and I do not have room for 2 of the same game, so I dismantled my old one and put the cab out for free.

A guy came out in about an hour and scooped her up. He said he was a teacher and he was going to have his students learn to put a PC in it to emulate games. Part of me was happy that she'll live on in another form, but another part of me wishes I could have kept her.

In retrospect, I know the one I have now is the keeper, as the first one was the particle board version, and she was already starting to break down.. still sucks a little, though. At least my sig will live on in her. 20250920_104735.jpg

You gave her a good life. She will live on.

Man, I've never seen particle board fail like that. Gnarly failure.

Trippin that I let it go? Or getting attached?

If it's the latter, I can't help it. This has been an epic hobby, and only a collective like us here are among those that truly recognize its significance.

You lost me at "dismantled it". Could of just sold it to another collector intact, just can't follow your line of thinking here.

I have made light arcade machines into heavy ones. Just add gallons of wood hardener. Sanding afterwards is difficult. No kidding, wooden hardener. Laughs

Nah I'm just kidding, I didn't see how bad the cab really is from the single photo you posted. I'd burn it before I let someone multicade it though :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, that did make my nose crinkle a little. But it was better than me having to bust it up, though.

I did it to keep the parts for my other, working Ms. Pac. One part was a brand new WG monitor that I had bought for it.
