I'd still rather cap a 4600 than have to take apart a Nintendo monitor. Those things are a nightmare to just remove the chassis. My biggest gripe with the 4600 is the flyback being remotely mounted to the side of the chassis.

I'm the opposite, done two sanyos with no issue. This 4600 is giving me fits. Hate taking this beast apart. :) At least it's working again now.

I think the 4600 is a pretty solid monitor. The biggest thing I started doing was re-flowing the connectors for those 2 cards and that helps.

They're not too bad, they just take a lot of time. You have to be patient doing them. They give great pictures when they're done, and are very reliable.

lol I just did one last night in my Mario Bros. I understand your pain, but I'd rather go through disassembly/re-hookup of a Sanyo EZ vs. that daughtercard nonsense on the 4600.

holy jacked up solder joints batman.

but I digress, either model looks fantastic when re-capped.

It is safe now... The Wah-bulance has been called and is on it's way.:D

About time! :)

You are right. They are nice monitors just a little bit of a pain to get them apart to work on (at least compared to the G07). The last one I actually did was not to bad. I set the monitor on my bench, unbolted the 2 chassis bolts on the left side, pulled the chassis out (after unhooking some wires), de-soldered the width coil wires at the coil, took the back plate off, and just flipped the chassis over and back replacing the board caps. Left the fly hooked up to the frame. It really wasn't that bad. Just having some video issues that got worse after I did the cap kit.

Thanks for letting me vent. Cheers!
