Hey Guys,

I scored a major deal today and that I am completely stoked about! I got the following:

Atari Black Widow
Sega Star Trek Strategic Operations Simulator

Both are working and in amazing condition. This expands my Vector collection to 5 machines, Tempest, Asteroids Deluxe, Battlezone, Black Widow and Star Trek!!!

Here are two quick pictures:

Let me know what you think!

considering a non dedicated one just sold for 600 i'd say its a good deal.

I got this from a friend who I've gotten most of my machines from and he gave me a deal on them that was too good to pass up. Plus I've played that Star Trek before and just fell completely in love with it!

Congrats, great deal for both working.

Thanks! I'm excited about the Black Widow, its Robotron but with Vector insects!!!!

I have only played Black Widow in MAME but I would love to have a real vector monitor version. I keep hoping I can get my dead Space Duel to work so I can eventually put a multi vector kit of some type in it so I can play Black Widow and other vectors in my house :)

I love Back Widow. Its the only game I can play for hours on end. The challenge just keeps me coming back. I haven't had much of a chance to play Star Trek. I have only seen a few examples and just one of those was working. It was the cockpit version and I played 1 or 2 games on it. I don't remember that well.

Amazing, it's hard enough to find them 2 titles, let alone both working!

Fantastic score. :)

Yeah I jumped on it though now I have to get rid of some projects to make space for them!

Thats also considered dedicated. Pretty sure it came that way from the factory. $600 was a pretty fair deal for it.

I've never really seen the Star Trek upright for sale, I actually see a bunch of captain's chair which I would love to have but I simply don't have the room for it!

Whats wrong with your Space Duel? Is it just a board set issue?

I've only played it once and it was on a cocktail that was converted to the multi-vector so the controls were a little weird but the game was fantastic!

I wish I knew. Powers on but won't play blind or do anything but hum. Got it cheap in non-working condition. I started a thread about it in the repairs section if you want to take a look and see if you have any ideas.

Congrats! Both fun games! If you want to expand your vector game list even further you should check out the Sega multi vector kit from Vector Labs. It lets you play Eliminator, Space Fury, Zektor, and Tac/Scan all from your Staqr Trek machine. I have the kit waiting to be installed on my Star Trek once I get it working.

Wow , those are two of my favorite vector games ! Clicking on this thread I didn't expect to see them . Nice score !

nice score!

Thank you!

I'll take a look when I get a chance!

I probably won't do that simply for the reason that I love the cabinet artwork. For me that is part of the experience, though I'm sure at some point I will get it!

Yeah I have played both and I really liked both. I'm an avid Star Trek fan so the Star Trek SOS was a must have.

Nice score! That's great that they're both working.

I just picked up a Black Widow and Star Trek (in cockpit form) myself, along with a couple other vectors. However, they're projects; but hopefully will have the BW running soon! Widow was the main one I was after, the other 5 vectors were just extra; but can't wait to get them running.

As much as I like the cockpit Star Trek, which I really do love, I simply don't have the room for it, maybe someday when I have a bigger place I will go after one.

What other vector games did you get?

The cockpit take up a lot of floor space. I don't have it in the "arcade" space, but on the other side of my basement by my rhythm games. That one is going to be a LONG project.

In total I got: Black Widow, Gravitar, Red Baron, Solar Quest, Star Trek cockpit and an empty Space Duel cabinet which I'm going to convert to Major Havoc. I also got all the repro Quantum parts, except for the board; I just need a cabinet, board and monitor, and I'll be very close to finished. Everything is in various stages of complete-ness. Red Baron, Black Widow and Gravitar will be done the soonest, hopefully in the next month or two. Solar Quest and Havoc are next up to be finished, and the long-term projects are Quantum and Star Trek.

Red Baron is the only BW Vector game that I'm really looking for. I've seen two but I haven't played one yet. I saw a cockpit recently but again those take up so much room its insane.
