I got my "number one"--After Burner Deluxe!

The "A"-number-one, top-of-the-list, must-have for me is After Burner Deluxe (the full-motion cockpit). It was the very first game that I wanted, and I've been looking for one for many years. Around 1987, my buddy and I rode our bikes two miles to the Skaggs Alpha Beta (grocery store) every weekend and dumped all of our money into this crazy game.

Shipping was ridiculous on this thing. For anyone shipping one in the future, it is 79 x 53 x 69 tall, and weighs at least 946 pounds. NAVL from Georgia to Kansas was almost a grand.

I consider it to be in good shape. The coin box has been painted silver, which will need to be corrected. The throttle needs a new bushing, and has actually been removed in these pictures. Also needs a new missile button. All of the motion works perfect, the lock-on lights work, the monitor looks fine, and the artwork is not too bad!

I was playing this afternoon, and now the theme music is stuck in my head!

soooo glad i dint have one cus id be crazy enough to take it apart and take it down my stairs
You know, I've only been to a couple of auctions, and I was really hoping one of these would turn up and go cheap. It never occurred to me that it would have been impossible to load, even with four guys (and I never had more than three). I know you're kidding about the stairs, but just in case you ever think you might try it--don't :D.

Incredible! It's such a killer machine. A true beast to move, only trumped by Sega's Galaxy Force. Remember to change those motor brushes and the 5k potentiometers on the controls at the first sign of fatigue and put fresh grease on all the joints and gears.

I have AB upright since I could never get such a monstrocity into my basement! :)

This would be perfect to turn into a 48-in-1.

hehehehe, just kidding. I'm still trying to pick my jaw off the floor. What a beauty.
