I know it wasn't actually going to be a 10 out of 10, but was hoping close to it. Even being 30+ years there are machines out there. I have been finding some pretty nice original (not restored) condition games lately that I would consider a 9 out of 10. So that was main reason to go after this one. Its still a good looking machine, like I said I already have two of these in better condition so was no need for me to grab this one. Don't want to be upsetting people by buying everything that pops up on Craigslist.
For a 30+ year old game .. they are never going to be a 10 out of 10...unless its been restored. Really..its a nice Joust for a collector. I would only clean it up a bit and install the new cpo and enjoy it.
The ciggy burns are where they were because they would sit the cigs on teh console with the butt facint the bezel and the cherry hanging out over the edge. But they would get involved and the cig would burn down and melt the CPO. Bastards!
I thought so but figured one small nudge would have the cig either roll towards your hand burning the hell out of you,or rolling towards the molding. If I smoked while playing, the ideal location would be on top of the P1 and P2 buttons LoL
It didn't have batteries installed but had in the past with the mild corosion being evident on the contacts. I hit them with some fine sand paper and they cleaned right up. Installed some lithium AA's and it's finally saving stats.
