As soon as I get everything fixed.

Yesterday I answered a cl posting about repairing a pinball machine. The add was looking for someone to repair a Williams Cyclone that is on location at a bar near my place. Last night I went to the bar and not only do they have the pin but they also have a Pac upright, a Ms Pac upright, and Dig Dug Cocktail; all in non-working condition.

After a quick negotiation with the bar/game owner I will be repairing all of these machines and maintaining these and everything else in the bar, including a Silver Strike, Big Buck Hunter, and multiple Megatouches. My compensation includes all of her extra neon (a new law in the city is requiring her to remove most of them anyway), free drinks/food, and most importantly for my local collectors plenty of advertising space for the Pacific Northwest Pinball and Gameroom Show.

I don't have any pics yet but I am planning to swing by there early next week and I'll take the camera along...

That's awesome. While I thought this story may have ended with you buying the machines I'm glad it turned out the way it did. There aren't enough cabinets in the wild anymore, so it's always good to hear of places that still have them making money. I wish I knew of a bar or resturaunt that had a few arcade games.

A funny sidenote about this: About 8 years ago I went to this bar fairly regularly over the course of one winter. A friend of mine lived less than two block away so it was very convenient for him. I remember trying to play the Cyclone machine but the damn ball always got stuck due to missing rubbers.

Also, about two weeks ago I was talking to my wife about visiting the bar to see if they still had the machine. I figured if it didn't work I'd make an offer on it; the visit never happened though.

that's an awesome deal you have worked out. you never know, maybe someone'll come in when you're there working on one of the games and mention they have a game for sale.

Well, the Cyclone pin is fully up and operational. I also had time to check out the other machines. Pac is playing blind. It has a G07 that has all of the symptoms of a blown fly. Ms Pac has a ton of ripple on the board causing resets; I'll be replacing the caps soon. Dig Dug looks to have a power supply issue but I can't get the cab open due to missing keys.

The owner wanted me to concentrate on the pin first. I finished it last night and began troubleshooting the vids. Of course, she was gone by the time I finished the assessment of the vids but I will be in touch with her today in order to get approval for ordering parts and hopefully have everything up and running in the next couple of weeks...
