I worked on my Wizard of Wor project for the first time in five years. It felt great to get that thing out of the garage. I had my wg k4600 cap kit already to go. I pull the neck board off and SNAP!!! The neck board broke in half. I didn't even pull hard. What a let down!!! Dejected...I proceeded to strip the whole thing down so I can work on the repairing the cabinet. I was bummed for about 30 minutes and then I realized I had a GO7 tube without a chassis that I could use in it's replacement. I just need to get a chassis. The tube has very little burn in. So there's still hope I can get this done.

As for the 4600 chassis and tube, I've all but given up on that thing. I might sell the cards in. I'll do the cap kit on the card at least.

Dont you just love that feeling?

One time when I was working on a Centipede cabaret, I had just got done rebuilding the monitor after it was throwing me so many curveballs. It felt so good to get it working. Then I reached in the back toward the top of the monitor, felt a static shock, flinched and jerked my arm out of instinct, and then a loud CRACK *PSHSSSSSSSSSSSSssssss......* and I had hit the neck board with my elbow and cracked the glass neck of the tube. I was heartbroken.

You know, on some level, that made me feel better. :) Your agony help lessen the blow. Thanks.

Seriously, breaking the tube has to be the worst feeling next to being shocked.
