Finally finished restoring my Tron today. I've been working on this on and off again for about a year, but I think she turned out nicely. You can't see it from the first pic, but when I got it, it was missing the side art and the sides were spray painted black. Stripped it down, primed and painted with an HVLP sprayer and applied the Phoenix Arcade complete Tron art package. I also bought a Groovy Game Gear Tron joystick. Below are some before and after pics. Here's the URL to the complete restore:

I actually did the inner artwork twice. The first time I didn't prep the cabinet well enough and it showed through the art work. The second time it came out perfect.

Looks great! How do you like the repro stick from Groovy Game Gear? My Tron had a black Gorf stick on it so I replaced it with one from there. I've been very pleased with it so far. :)

I think the GGG repro Tron stick looks better than the original. The original was kind of teal in color and never looked quite right to me. The GGG one is a vibrant blue. Not sure if they got teal over time due to all the cigarette smoke or if that was the original color. Either way the GGG repro Tron joystick really looks sharp.

Thanks, I need to find a donor Konami cab for my GI Joe it's currently a Taito cab but I've got NOS GI Joe art work, so once I find an old Simpsons, XMEN, or other Konami cab of that vintage that one will get restored also.

I used Rustoleum satin black and thinned with acetone. My ratio is 85% paint to 15% acetone. The correct ratio of acetone seems to be the key to getting a smooth paint job. You could probably go as high as 80/20. I actually painted this cab 3 times sanding it down between each before it came out perfect. The first time my HVLP gun got all clogged up and just spat paint, after cleaning it I ruined something in the gun and it gave a terrible finish. Finally I bought a new gun and problem solved perfect paint job.
