Well after checking out this site and researching I believe I paid way to much for my High-Speed $1600 that was the company delivering it from 65 miles away and the guy gave me extra parts and 2 free service calls. From what I gather HS are going for $500-$900. Mine is 7/10 maybe thats a bit generous. Playfield has wear, someone didn't do flipper bushings so it has the scrapes down to wood from the flippers dragging, wear around some insert to wood and by the ramp some wear to wood nothing real major and was able to get it to look better but not perfect just "ok". I jumped the gun because I wanted the pinball machine I played as a Teen "High-Speed". It has been a good machine no major problems mechanically and it looks as if all the boards are either new or were professionally cared for as it dont have a hack job look to it everything look NEW behind the backglass. It has 2 broken plastic pieces but if you dont know where to look you will never know. The wrong dome lense is on, this one is smaller and taller then the right one which is wide and short. No I never saw it in person before I bought it. They sent me pictures and I did see the pf wear, and cabinet dings and scratches, it needs a bit of a stencil job but not real bad. I have learned my lesson! Nov. will be one year and all it needed so far was a flipper rebuild done. Jeff

You're estimate of what a High Speed goes for is a little low. You're not going to find a working High Speed anywhere near $500. I'd say the low side for a working high speed is closer to $800-$900...

Sounds to me like yours would be a $900-$1,100 machine. If you come across anything close to what yours looks like for $500-$600, I'll take it.

Price also depends on location as well. We pay ALOT more up here as there aren't alot of options and people have to ship from the U.S. alot of times. Don't think of your pin as an investment and you'll be fine :) haha

Playfield wear down by the flippers sucks though. Any sort of major playfield wear drops the price substantially, especially right down by the flippers.

I agree. You overpaid but not by as much as you think you did.

Live and learn. If you're happy with the game and you're not broke over it just enjoy it and don't worry about the price.

Well you paid from a retailer from the sounds of it and got a title you really wanted. When you look at it that way you didn't really overpay you just paid what it takes to get what you wanted and when you wanted it.

Now someone down the road might sell a nicer one on CL for under 1000 but that can be a long wait to get what you really want. Ebay avg price is 926 and that is from prices that range from 113-2225

I say enjoy it, i would love a HS one day.

No way ...a HS w/ playfield wear and broken plastics ...$500 is about right. A decent HS2: The Getaway would be a $1000 game. A $1600 HS should be damn near mint.

I have sold several HS2's and never under 2000.00 they are a highly demanded machine but that is a fully shopped pin and very nice shape. I have one now that is going to be listed for 2600.00 but it is dam lose to mint

$1600 isn't that bad, especially from a retailer and with delivery and 2 included service calls. That is all worth something. You could have bought a similar machine for $800-1000 but you'd have to pick it up, you'd get no service calls, etc. and who knows how long you'd have to wait to find one close by. So you didn't do as bad as you might think.

Normally HS is a $500-1200 machine. HS2 $900-1500.

Sounds like a nice machine in very good condition. You can fix the few cosmetic items.

Think of all the quarters you didn't have to shovel into someone else's machine!

You've got a store, so you can sell things for more. I'm talking prices between collectors, or buying project games from operators. HS2 isn't a $2000 game to most of us.

I love the price discussions. I think over time you "price average". Pay too much one time, get a real bargain another.

Oh it has been a great machine for almost a year of ownership. We as a family enjoy it. My 12 yr old son has Top score. I need to get a rubber kit a full kit with everything so what co. Marco, pinball life, action pinball, etc. Thanks - Jeff

I guess you won't be too happy that I paid $325 for my High Speed that had been in storage for about 5 years :)
Battery leaked but not bad, top flipper fell off the playfield and blew the fuse and several lamps and flash lamp resistors all needed fixing. General condition quite good, say 7/10.
Needless to say it was running within the hour.

Simple fix- just don't free-play it. Drop quarters in it until you are through with it, then empty it and subtract that amount from what you paid- the true cost.

btw, I happen to fall on the side that says the price was ok. Right now my cheapest pin for sale is $3K- but there is a little negotiation room there and I'm not a highly motivated seller.
