I finally decided to get back on track with my Reactor restoration that is about 95% done. Against my better judgment I moved the game with my little hand-truck sans shoes. Well, I couldn't keep it stable when setting it down and proceeded to drop it on my right foot, breaking my middle toe. I've had lots of minor arcade injuries, but this is my first break. Did I mention I also dropped the minty fresh cp and put a huge gash into the repro overlay?

Perhaps Reactor was mad that I waited so long to finish her up.

Dude quit while you're still not seriously injured...at least for today LOL

I dropped a Shadow pinball on my foot once. I was prepping it for shipping and was removing the legs. I like to put a bar stool under the back end of the body (after folding down and securing the head of the game) and remove the back legs, then lower the machine to the floor. Well, my foot was between the game and the floor. I did have shoes on, though. I jumped up and down on the other leg yelling obscenities for a few minutes, then manned up and went back to work.

Glad it wasn't worse, but that's a nice battle scar / story.

An empty Tron fell off my handtruck onto me the other day and banged me up a little. The bezel glass was on top too, but luckily it fell onto the makeshift workbench I had set up in front of the garage - luckily it didn't break.

ouch! Friday night i was rushing to get cabs assembled for saturday. I lined up a 3/4" block on a panel, and used my thumb to line it up with the edge. then i went and shot a 1 1/4" staple into it, which deflected and both legs of the staple went 1/2 straight into my thumb. Right on the tip too so it could get maximum depth. Can't even use that thumb now for anything hurts like F*#K

I feel your pain. I put a brad nail into my palm when I set the depth on my nail gun incorrectly. Shot right through the wood on my Space War resto. Ah, the things we do for this hobby.

Sounds like the reactor is unstable. :)

Hope broken toes fixes up right.

Cheers

I feel your pain, I dropped a Donkey Kong on my right foot. Lost my toenail on my big toe.
I had the monitor pulled out of the cabinet and didn't think it would be that heavy. Man, was I wrong.

Now I know why you didnt answer your phone

Chris, I saw you as a "maybe" to attend SC3. Had you made it, you wouldn't have dropped that Reactor on your foot.

I had a Dynamo HS5 25" dropped on my once...literally...the whole thing...and my hand truck, with me underneath. Kinda hard to breathe under there.

i learned that spy hunter is not soo nice of a cab to move, i had to take it through the hall to get it to the gameroom and i dropped it on my feet cutting the skin and removed the toenail from the toe and this was an empty cab too, only had the power brick and marquee light and wiring ect. no monitor.

My friend sliced his hand open all the way across while trying to move my Pole Position... I've never hurt myself yet with them, I pulled something while shifting Dig Dug over but that's been it.

The nail on my middle toe finally fell off, that took awhile. Pretty gross, but at least I won't have to look at that smashed black nail anymore.

I haven't (yet) dropped an arcade game on my foot, but back when I was doing Sound Reinforcement I dropped an EV MTL-4 Subwoofer on my left big toe while going up some steps.

Mind you, there was three of us carrying it, but there was still plenty of omph to the drop. My toe turned completely black and my toenail subsequently fell off about a week later. Very unpleasant experience. From that point forward I wore steel-toe boots to shows.

I wish I still had a couple of those. Seriously Epic low-end from those beasts. To give you an idea of how much, about 6 of them are sufficient for medium sized outdoor amphitheaters.

I was wheeling my Neo cab up my makeshift ramp (3 steps to get up in the back of my house) and the ramp let go as I stepped up on the top step. I landed on my butt in the house with the machine landing sorta on my knees. No damage to the game, but I ripped up my hands and my knees didn't fair well.
