Hey Guys, I posted this last fall on Pinside and quite a few folks reached out so I figured I'd repost it here for anyone who didn't see and may be in need;

To any of you guys who know me know that besides operating pinballs & an Arcade I own a construction/roofing company and have been a General Contractor for many, many years.
I've put this offer out to friends and other acquaintances, but I figure I'd post it here too; I do roofs for Pinball & Arcade games!

The cost of Roofing & Construction has gone INSANE that last 5+ years and the weather has seriously shortened the lifespan of a lot of exterior home products & materials. If you are in need of roof repairs or looking to have a roof done in the general New England area, my normal base is Western MA/Northern CT out past Worcester in Connecticut down into Meriden area possibly the shore as well. I will take Pinball machines in trade towards Roofing and roof work. Commercial and residential roofing. We are fully licensed, insured and been in business for over 20 years.
Even if you're outside of the NE area, it's not out of the question that we could work something out.
So if you're at all interested, feel free to hit me up via PM.
Thanks!
Eric

OK so now you are required to share what pins you've acquired during this flim flam 😀
Ooooooh. Great Question!

To name a few:
Congo
DE Star Wars
Johnny Mnemonic
Star Wars Ep1
Twilight Zone
Road Show

There have been many lesser titles and project both on the Pinball & Arcade side as well over the years.

Yeah, thanks for asking, actually!
Yeah, and I want to stress that most of those titles are the HIGHLIGHTS and it really is a job by job/Customer by Costumer barter situation... And It could be a low end game or project that interests me and we work out a fair price and I discount that total accordingly. OR! Someone comes to me with some high end game and that may even cover the whole job!
I am open to any Trade/Barter situation in these deals.

i'm in chicagoland, so i'm not a great customer option for you, but i love the offering :D

just out of curiosity, how much have your prices risen in the last 7 years. I was lucky to have my new roof installed in 2018 before prices went... well..... through the roof!
And I had the same roofer give a quote to my sister for her roof and it was like 2.5x what it would have been 7 years ago.

It's funny you ask that, I was actually trying to calculate how much prices have risen in the last 10 years.

My material costs have tripled. We went from $68 per sqs for architectural shingles in 2014 to $140 in 2025z for the good shingles that will last, not the cheap Depot/Lowes stuff.
And with inflation and the constant push for raising minimum wage around the country and the ripple effect on everything from that my labor costs have easily doubled

So a 2.5x increase is pretty accurate and fairly standard across the industry.

And that Jerky Boys call is hands down the best one!!! Take it from me though, slapping each other with the HOT mops is not as funny as it sounds!!!!

That's a pretty awesome offer, never thought I'd see the worlds of pinball and roofing overlap like that! With how crazy material costs have gotten, taking pins as partial trade actually makes a lot of sense. I'm not local to New England myself, but it's good to know guys like you are out there helping keep roofs solid and games moving around the hobby. Bet you've had some interesting trades come through over the years.

I sure have! Besides the prospect of being able to help folks out it's also interesting to see trade proposals that I would never have considered otherwise. It's really cool TBH.

I misread the title, I thought that you were advertising that you build roofs exclusively that cover arcade games. I was going to say that must be a really niche market but what you are actually offering makes much more sense 😀

If you were in Ohio I might be taking you up on this idea.
My roof is 21 years old and only have a few years left on it I think.

I wonder what other klov members would do for an arcade machine they want?

The typical cut down on other expenses.
The parking of the car(s) outside of the garage.
The not being on time due to an arcade pickup.
The spending your free time searching for arcade machine.
The hours on klov after finding a broken arcade machine.
Buy a vehicle thinking how many arcade machines can I fit in it.

These old wooden boxes take time and effort. It a fun hobby but it isn't a easy one.
