but I wasn't.

There was an ad in our local CL. Free Run & Gun arcade game. Missing power supply. I called the number about 30 minutes after it posted (I know, way too late), about 3PM, and the guy told me that someone was supposed to be there at 6PM. But the owner said he wanted it gone fast and if I could get there sooner, I could have it. Turns out, I was less than 15 minutes away at the time, with a vehicle that could haul it too.

I decided I wouldn't steal it out from someone like that. I wouldn't be surprised if someone else did though.

Easy to do the right think on a Run & Gun. I can't say for sure I would have acted the same way on a dedicated Major Havoc. Hey, give me credit for being honest too!

You should to the right thing all the time whether it's a Major Havoc or not!

Nice move, I have had a few cabs slip from me because I made a deal and someone else jumped early. I was going to get a Back to the Future pin here, it was on the big island, I called the guy and told him I would take it, that I would be out the next day, he said he could help take it to the freight terminal, I made the car reservations, had the hotel lined up, called the guy to set up the exact time to book the tickets(There are 15 or so flights a day between islands) and he tells me, oh someone is on their way to look at it now.... HUH? I cancelled everything, even if the other guy hadn't take it, I was done dealing with a person that would do that.

I know I should all the time, I was being honest saying I'm not sure if I would have if it was a 'Havoc.

You would'nt have been a jerk. If the owner tells you to come get it then I don't see a problem. Now if they tell you that it's sold for a certain amount and you up the price then maybe a bad move but it's still up to the seller.

What I would have done was tell the guy I can be there at 7 if the 6 guy flakes. I've lost count of how many folks I've had tell me "I'll be there at 6" then I never hear from them again. I even had one lady do it TWICE!!!

On free and cheap things on CL it's always first come first served. The no-show percentage from CL is well above 75%.
