...and got a Wii U.

Went to my local Target at midnight. Slept in my car. First two people showed up at 5:30. I got in line after them. Manager came out at 7 and told us he only had 3 deluxe and 1 basic left for non-preorders and took our names down. Phew.

Some people were naive enough to show up right at opening expecting to grab one. Do your research! Pre-orders sold out & limited quantities! :)

Have fun after the first hour of updates!

I'm sitting here wishing I could be messing around with mine right now. It's paid for, dammit...

I'm curious about how the new Network ID thing works. Is there a way yet to set one up without a WiiU?

You can order them direct from nintendo.com they have plenty in stock.

Not that I'm looking to get one right now, but I don't see where. When I go to "Buy Now" I only see links to other retailers. And the old online shop doesn't seem to have been updated for the WiiU yet.

Cool, looking forward to hearing what you guys think of the Wii U. I'm a sucker for Nintendo stuff, I'll probably cave and get one when there are a few more good games out for it.

Whah Frengph!! Baah don forngeh wehwahgah wakkyou awwww offalwah worl.

Sounds like tech companies are all trying the tactic of intentionally not providing sufficient stock to meet demand on launch day to create some hysteria. They provide enough stock for pre-orders, and a few extras, and that's it.

Apple are notorious for it. Microsoft tried it with their surface tablet too, it seems. :p

They don't do it on purpose. The deal is that factories only can make so many at a time because of sourcing components and the build up for launch day. 100K per month? 500K launch means 5 months of building stock... who can just build inventory for 5 months?

This problem has been around since the PS2 launch... I can't recall any other launch that sold out for months till they caught up to the demand.

I can't get one now cause other than Nintendoland... I only really want to play Pikmin 3.

Aside from the hefty setup time, loving the interface and design. My bro and I played NintendoLand for about an hour and it's pretty cool all around.

They really made a conscious effort to create an "attraction" around each franchise. So far, loving Mario Chase, Ninja Castle, Metroid Blast and DK's Crash Course.

I was gonna preorder one but I ended up getting this instead ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353294302.756065.jpg
I hadn't even really followed anything about the new WiiU but I almost impulsively buy every Nintendo system. I dodged it for a little it seems since the supply is limited, but now that Prairiedillo pointed out pikmin 3 I'm already googling game release dates.i still have the first pikmin and love it. That's all Nintendo is to me anymore, a company with a few good first party titles that baits me with promises of better hardware. But then again, I still pull out the nes/snes/64/GC to play some of these awesome games so I gotta admit a lot of these games really stand the test of time. I guess ill be "caving in" next so I can pickup the usual suspects as they trickle in ie... Metroid, Zelda, Mario etc...

FYI, Old Navy is doing a Midnight-4AM sale on Black Friday. Spend $40 or more and get New SMB U for FREE ($60 value). We shop there a lot for my daughter and $40 is really easy to spend. I'm going to try and make it and hope the line isn't too ridiculous.

Good luck with the Old Navy thing.

A few years back they did that with another Wii game (I forget which off hand) but most stores only got a few, as usually the case with black Friday specials, and so not many people got one.
