I can accept credit cards for 1.8% fees

Yep. I use intuit's Go Payment. Same thing, same rates. Its awesome. I used to have a credit card machine for my business, but I was sick of paying fees every month if I used it or not. Most of my customers pay check or cash, but I had to have a CC machine for a specific company who only paid with their business card. Sometimes it would be months in between orders. My CC machine would be racking up the bills. This little smartphone swiper is so great. No monthly fees, take it anywhere..and you dont have to have a DBA or business bank account to get one, unlike an actual credit card machine. So anyone can accept credit now! Awesome!!!

Awesome.

Is there a service with those rates that allow you to integrate a cart for your website like paypal does?

My sister-in-law published a cook book a while ago. We use a similar (might be the same thing) CC system when we go to shows and events. Works pretty darn good..don't recall ever having a problem with it.

I think there's a couple different swipe mechs..one for Android, iPhone and blackberry

I believe there is. I remember when I got mine, there were a ton of options and features that came with it. I dont use a cart or online shopping, so I never looked too far into it, but I think I remember something about that. One of the cool features I like about it, is when you swipe someones card or enter their number, a receipt is instantly emailed to them.

Yeah. There are a few of them on the market right now. All of them pretty much work the same from what I've read. I believe a lot of them work on multiple devices. I know mine works for Android, BB and iphone.

I have the square device but havent used it yet..

Square has some good reviews. Its a blast using it. As dumb as that sounds, nothing is cooler then having someone sign their name on a touchscreen phone. LOL.

yeah, every company seems to have a device these days. Groupon's is the cheapest (or tied for the cheapest) and seems to have one of the best devices (square's spins in the headphone jack when you try to swipe it).

Looks like the groupon version requires you to be a groupon merchant meaning you have to have an account with them and have either listed a daily deal or have entered into a contract to do so. Good deal for those who qualify however not available to the general public.
