Working in my garage , its dark and hard to see and I accidentally mixed up JB and JC on the audio board . The monitor works but the screen is white and you can still see the game playing faintly . Any ideas what to do ?

This should have instantly fried the sound section of your game board. I've done this myself once and and have worked on several chassis where people have done the same thing. If your problem exists in the chassis, i'll be a bit surprised cuz i've yet to see the chassis take a hit, it always wipes out the board.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one......I will NEVER do it again , I now triple check every time to make sure I have the connectors right . Some things you learn the hard way .

The little sound board is fried and doesn't work .

But this monitor never had a problem till I did this . I have a Donkey Kong right next to my DK Jr , [DK Jr is the monitor I broke] and I've swapped out the game boards , white monitor cable and even put the DK Jr monitor in the DK Cab and still all I get is a white screen , but you still can see the game running . This pic is with the brightness turned all the way down , the screen kinda turns green .

I guess I'll give the monitor board a real close inspection and see if I can find anything that got fried .

A single tear rolled down my cheek when I read the title of this thread. Almost all of the 19" monitors I own are 20ez's. In fact I've got one that needs capping and started compiling a list of stuff to order from Bob but am still remembering things as I go through the day. What exactly fries on the sound board when these are reversed? Do new caps bring it back to life or do other parts need to be replaced?

It looks like you have blown a ground trace. Pull the chassis, and search for an open trace.

You can easily make the monitor look like that by simply removing the ground from the video header.

I messed around with the monitor and everything looked fine on the chassis . I think I have to send it out for repair to Arcadecup , if you guys are puzzled I sure as hell won't figure this out .
