I just bought a NFL Blitz 99 yesterday. Great condition except for a couple buttons sticking. What a cool game so far. What do you all think? Does anyone know anything about the nintendo 64 memory card slot on the side of this thing? How do you open the slot? Was it factory installed by Midway or was it some kinda of add-on?

Not sure if that was factory installed or an add-on but it allows you to take your N64 memory card and load your stats and so forth up on the Arcade.

I had a sportstation - I loved it. Congrats on the new game.

Well I figured out how to open the slot but now I can't close it. LOL. Now I need to get a memory card.

For me, '99 is great because it has Barry Sanders in his last year on the Lions. I didn't like the Colts with Marshall Faulk on the team. That's why I upgraded to 2000--so I could have the Manning/James/Harrison trio. I think '99 also had the last year for the Oilers and Blitz 2000 is the Browns first year.

Do you know anything about the memory slot?

The memory slot was an add-on feature. I think there was also one for Sony Playstation memory cards, too. As far as I know, they only worked with Williams/Midway games like NFL Blitz and NBA Showtime. I never actually used one, but had to install a few out in the field when I was servicing games. As far as opening the slot, I think that you might have to take apart the housing of the reader and remove a plate. It's been a few years since I had to fool with those things.

the card reader is for ur n64 save games because there is not enough time to create a play on the arcade machine, its limited, on n64 its as much time as you want so create some plays there and bring em to the machine.

Cool. I am going to buy a used memory card tonight and I have a friend that has a 64 and game I can borrow. Looking forward to it.
