Damn, $20/hr and paid vacation in this economy sounds like a hell of an opportunity.

Is it a full time gig?

Yes full time with a lot of benefits
We are going a 7 day cruise in Oct and it is a company deal and everyone is going on the company, so we work together here and play together.

We have a compound in TN, the whole family has their own houses there to visit. Now we are in Knoxville, but none the less TN is not somewhere that is cheap. Granted no state income tax but man it is no more cheaper than chicago.

I guess that comes out to $39k a year. Okay money for a cheaper locale but not exactly big bucks.

If you had the skills to repair SS and EM pinballs and videos, and the desire to do it for a living, couldn't you make more money just working for yourself? Around here some guys charge around $75 an hour and they make pretty decent money. Of course they aren't going to be working as many hours and benefits need to be factored in (which are around 25% of salary), but still...

Not everyone is capable of "people Skills" and wont last long working for them selves. in fact working for someone else without all the stress and paperwork is much easier for some people. But i do agree with you.. if i had these skills working on the side repairing games would be a great gig.

I have been in business for a long time with my carpet cleaning business I had since 93 and just sold to do this full time and I know some people need a job and some can run a business. It is hard to make a living repairing these games because it is hit and miss. Not a lot of people have these so your customer base is going to start small. And bottom line is a lot of people do not want the hassles of running their own business.

You always make more working for yourself, if you can make a go of it. This is hardly a newsflash...

Damn i wish i had them skills. All mine are learning on mine own. And i never messed with em pinballs. we hire someone out to do those. my wifes wanting to move as well.

I can fix em's if I have to, but I don't like it and I'm not the fastest em fixer. Can fix ss too if I have paperwork.

And of course I can fix video.

Not looking to move, though....

I'm sure the cost of living is, uh, very.

Seriously though TN is some pretty country, some nice people and a reasonable cost of living.

If I were 20 years younger I'd move and bite that in a second.

That is some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen is down in the swamps of Louisiana. I was down there a couple of years ago Tarpon fishing and I have never seen anything like it. The sunsets were amazing. You are lucky to live down there

Is TN a haven for humidity? I can't stand humidity. I'd rather deal with 100 degree dry weather than 80 degree humid weather any day.
