I have a dead 48 in 1 Jamma board. It must be the board because when I plug in my old snow bros board it all works fine. The board is pretty new and I don't see anything wrong on it. Are there any steps I can take to diagnose and maybe repair the board or is it junk? Advice is appreciated. I miss my Donkey Kong.

Monitor works fine with the Snow Brothers in it?

With the 48-1 does it just give you a blank screen? I don'nt know this board does it show any sign its getting power?

Jamma

Has VGA output but got a blank screen. When I plug into the machine I get no signs of function (eg when only monitor is blown I can still hear the game working) and arcade screen is a moving wave of red and black scramble with no clear image.

On start up LED 3 blinks red for 5 seconds, then LED 2 blinks green and never stops. Screen comes on with that moving pattern of colored static and never stops. Makes a sound like a chain saw for 60 seconds then goes quiet. This is consistent with the boot sequence when it worked.

Yeah, you may get lucky and have it work when you get it down. I never set it higher than 5.10 myself. It says in the manual to never set it higher than 5.2....

Volt reduction

Ok thanks for the tip. Can you tell me how to adjust it?

Depends on what power supply you have. If it is a switching power supply, it should have an adjustment pot. Make sure it is disconnected from the board when you turn it, just in case your first turn is up....
