I accidentally erased my 3 high scores on Asteroids Deluxe, halp!

I would like to find me a set of Asteroids Deluxe easy proms. I know they exist. I actually seen a kit for sale not too long ago on Ebay. I should have jumped on it then.
You can probably get them burned out for you easily enough from a few people here, ask andrewb or hobby roms. Huge difference with the seekers' speed on the first board!

The easy ROMs are the v2 ROMs, which are what is found on most boards. In my experience only one out of maybe every 20 still has the original v1 hard ROMs.

If most of the numbers on your board's ROMs end in -02, then you have the easier v2 set.

Thanks for the inside knowledge....I will open her up and check my ROMs......

Once I determine which ROMs I have.....I'll be good to go. Definitely saving this info for the possible ROMs update! Thanks guys.👍

Also, be aware that on the v2 set, there is a dipswitch setting that was added to switch between easy and hard. See the official Atari documentation here:

http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/ARCADE/A-J/Asteroids Deluxe [Rom Update] [English].pdf

However, it has been shown that the hard setting on the v2 ROMs is not the identical code as the v1 ROMs. This is because the alien ship behavior is different between the v1 ROMs, and the v2 ROMs set to hard. There is an old thread about v1 here, with more info:

I'm really sorry for dragging this on....no disrespect to the original poster. I just had a moment to check my machine and this is what I found. It would seem from everything that I've been told and read, that this AD is original in regards to the chip set.

Yes, that's the v1 ROM set.

If you want v2, contact Steph at hobbyroms.com.

I was all excited to find out why my scores were so low on this game, but then I took a look at my roms... Nothing like yours/mine must be set to 'easy'/I should practice more.
