Well, I'm used to that, but this just looked so spotty and "surface rusty" that I thought maybe something ate the poorly-applied mask off over the years. Oh well. Guess I'll run it and see what happens.Atari didn't put mask on the top of a lot of arcade boards. Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command off the top of my head.
If you saw the deflection board in my 19v2000 you'd think that thing was pretty minty. Looks like it's decomposing but it works greatWell, I'm used to that, but this just looked so spotty and "surface rusty" that I thought maybe something ate the poorly-applied mask off over the years. A LOT until I obtained it. It was sitting in a non-climate-controlled building for decades with a hole in the roof.Looks like general corrosion.
What kind of humidity does this see?
Yep, there's the problem. You can recover it. It will take a lot of time.A LOT until I obtained it. It was sitting in a non-climate-controlled building for decades with a hole in the roof.
got a G05 at work that looks straight out of a swamp. I didn't even bother doing anything with it. the other G05 was used as a donor to replace a V2000. lolIf you saw the deflection board in my 19v2000 you'd think that thing was pretty minty. Looks like it's decomposing but it works great![]()
I've never seen one in this condition. That's rough. RIPPulled this audio board out of my long-neglected Xybots machine, and I thought "something doesn't look right here."
Thoughts?
Given that the parts cost and labor time involved in fixing all that FAR exceeds what I paid for the machine, I'm afraid this Xybots has run its course. Perhaps I could convert it into an impressive jukebox…
