Just figured I would post this to vent a little...

I placed an order for 4 switchers from them a week ago (via the internet) In the note field I asked him to PLEASE ship promptly as I had a paying friend with a machine down that needed it to be up and running this week.
As of today I have put 3 emails in as well as 3 phone calls and still nothing, not so much as a piss off.... So tomorrow I am pulling a switcher from one of my games and taking it over to put it in, but still this whole situation pisses me off, if your going to run a business run it right PERIOD!! If there are issues let customer know, at least reply to calls and email's, hell it takes 2 minutes of your time, I have been in contact with the owner of the machine everyday just to let him know the status.
If I don't hear from Scott by tomorrow I plan on filing a dispute with paypal...

Anyone else had issues with them?

i had issues. ordered a g07 chassis from him and never got it. repeated constant emails and phone calls which were not returned about 90% of the time. after 3-4 weeks i filed a paypal dispute, in which all of the sudden he popped up and started responding, claiming USPS problems. i have nothing wrong with scott as a person, though. i guess i just got bad luck on that one.

If you want a arcade item shipped fast, I would check out www.arcadeshop.com

No knock to anyone else but they have always shipped anything I have ordered same or next day and I get it in 2-3 days after that.

I ordered 3 power supplies on Nov 11th. Good with emails up to a point, but then nothing. I send a weekly/bi weekly email and nothing. I did send a USPS money order though and it's been long enough that they can track it. If it's cashed I'll let them deal with him. Paypal can hose you, but the postal service is a federal crime ;)

Well just received un unexpected refund along with this lame excuse for an email:

Tipped off as to a KLOV post. No voicemails have been left, I see no e-mail though it's possible they are mixed in with 1246 spam folder messages. Let's just save us both some time. Sorry this did not work out.

What an effin let down , I mean I have been dragging this repair out for over a week expecting the parts to show up at my door anytime, only to get this load of crap... O well, lesson learned and now I know where NOT to send people!!
But as I said, I plan to pull the switcher out of my choplifter tomorrow and put it in his game for now to keep my reputation and character (something I'm pretty proud of) in the clear...

Now the search starts again for cheap switchers....

What do you consider "cheap"?

I'll just say, "You get what you pay for." If you try to skimp, then you should expect either poor products or poor service.

Just pay the regular price and get them from Bob Roberts. Once you order from him at least once, you'll have them in the amount of time it takes your postal money order to get there...

Let me throw my hat in the ring to say that I will not be wasting my time ordering from Hyperspace Arcade again. Even though I read everywhere about all the issues beforehand I still had to give it a shot. You deal with that headache once then do everything in your power to warn others to stay away.

Thats what I was gonna say .

With Bob Roberts around , theres no need to buy parts from anywhere else .

Very true, it was just hard to pass up a website claiming to sell switchers for $5 each with a flat rate shipping of 7 bucks... I actually plan to send Bob an email tomorrow and pay for the better parts and trusted name.

Well, if I wanted to, I could pull dirty old switchers that still work out of the crappy cabs I find and sell them for $5 plus flat-rate shipping. They might last ya a couple months before they die...

Scott's the only person I ever had to take up a Paypal Dispute with...

He tried to give them a DC# for an item that was shipped 2 weeks after he said he shipped it. ANd it was shipped to someone 6 hours away.

yeah. that's how it usually seems to happen. i don't quite understand the voicemail thing though. has anyone ever had luck contacting scott through the phone number? when i was working with him on the chassis, i left a lot of messages and called a ton, but never got a live voice...

Yeah... I've probably thrown over 100 of those in the landfill. Some things are just not worth messing with.

That said... If I didn't have several boxes of new switchers sitting around I might be tempted by a $5 switcher myself.

I don't believe that the price dictates the service you should receive. Just because they're cheap doesn't mean the guy should get the run around like that. Customers should get the same treatment regardless of the total sale. The product is a different story. If you're cheap you can expect to get a cheap product... but the service should never be "cheap" quality.

A simple search on KLOV before you used Hyperspace would have saved you a lot of grief.
