OK, so you may have seen (or not) the thread where I picked up a really nice Hyperball machine. If not, and you're really bored, you can head over to: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=161199

Well anyway, the GI goes not work, nor do the backbox lights. Open the backbox and THIS is what you see:

I am downloading a manual now. I'm not even sure where to begin with this!!!

Don't get overwhelmed. It looks worse than it really is. The connector burned and someone replaced it by just soldering wires to the board. That's extremely common. You have a couple of options. The first is to cut out all that crap, install new connectors, put it back to original and go from there. The other option is to just work with what's there which could actually be pretty solid and reliable once you eliminate those wire nuts and do a decent solder job on all the connections.

That's a bunch of nonsense! Just replace the fuse and you'll be fine.

Auger fixed

With the wiring still waiting on parts, I decided to tackle the auger issue on this machine.

The auger would randomly stop as if it was jammed, but would move freely if turned by hand. After taking everything apart, I found that the auger is centered in it's holder by rubber spacers at the top. On one side, these spacers were degraded, thus having the assembly sit at an angle. This, in turn, would not drop the balls out of the auger into the feeder and rather puch them into the side of the metal plate, and jamming every now and then.

No pictures during the fix, but here's a video after the fix. Don't mind my dorky narration, LOL, Sorry for the angled video, it did not look like that through the camera :(
