Picked up a Hyperball from a fellow KLOVer the other day. My dumb ass hooked something up wrong when putting it back together after the transport...bad smell, some smoke, long story short the ball shooter coil is always energized & won't reload. It works manually. The seller has been awesome e-mailing back & forth trying to help me fix...but this is a new hobby of mine & besides not knowing a lot, have very little time to dedicate to what SOUNDS to be at this point either a diode or transistor. Was wondering if anyone around Albany NY, Bennington VT area would appreciate a drop off/diagnose/fix & make some money on the side type of situation? Nothing comes up on diagnostic tests except switch 21 which is a target...and while I'd like that fixed as well, it's not as major as the cannon not firing balls. Can provide more info & what's been done so far, if this sounds interesting to you please PM me. Thanks!

Seem to have traced the issue, at least in part to a bad diode & may be attempting the fix myself. I must say I'm very surprised there are no suggestions for arcade repair type places around Albany...I could see in northern Maine or something :)

If you are still stuck, Chris Hibler is the MAN when it comes to board repairs. He has a Hyperball, so when I had issues, he re-worked all my boards and was able to test them in his machine before returning them to me.

He took alot of time to get them right, kept in constant communication, and for the time he put in, gave me a GREAT price.

If you need it, PM me and I can get you his info. He is in Indiana if I recall correctly.

Hope you can get it going!

Chris
