Hey guys finally getting to my hydro thunder again

The issue: the force feedback slams the wheel to the left and stays there.

What I've done:
Replaced steering pot and recalibrated. The game plays fine without the motor plugged in.

So my options I believe are replacing the motor? Which I don't know if I need to as it's really strong so I feel like i don't need to but if anyone knows how to test if the motor is bad I'd love to hear it.

I could replace the driver board? I did replace the little silver amp and the 2 big capacitors as I've heard these are the common culprits.

Another thing I see thrown around is the Diego board? I don't exactly know what its purpose is but would that be worth looking into? Sorry I'm not the most knowledgeable in this but I'd like to get it up and running please let me know if anyone has any tips.

I had this same issue. Replacing the driver board fixed it for me.

When you go into the ffb test menu, there's a screen where you can press the + and - buttons to manually tell the ffb which direction to force the wheel. Does it react to these at all?

If you want to play without ffb, unplug the power leads going into the ffb motor.

Fyi I had this happen to me before too. It was a loose connection to the wheel driver board, I can't remember the cable, it was one from the Diego to the driver board. It may have also been when I didn't connect the "ide-style" cable correction (backwards or pin offset).

Also, when it is very cold out, at least for me, the driver board puts out a slight "to the left" for the wheel, so you see it slowly move on startup and it stays there. Move it back, and it still does it. Hold it in place, you barely feel it. After everything warms up a bit, it seems to go away.
