Anyone have a diego board for a hydro thunder for sale? Mine has a bad video section, Maybe even a video card, mother board or the whole computer case with everything for spare parts.

why do ppl ask for things and then slam the cost brakes on the second someone responds?

this is kind of an annoying way to start a potential sales conversation.

Doesnt bother me any, people love top dallar or think they have a gem so they private message you to stay in the dark, so either a sale happens or it doesnt, id probably have better luck waiting for a cheap non working hydro thunder, they show up often.

this isn't click-to-buy. sales here actually require interaction with (gasp) humans. 😀

Any luck?

Wanted to post this here if anyone comes across it, this is how I fixed my bad video section (and maybe something you could do or send the board in for if no luck finding a board): https://forums.arcade-museum.com/th...deo-issue-possibly-diego.512007/#post-4584870

We should definitely look to fix these Diego boards in one way or another!

And if having issues with PC and wanting to rebuild it, this is currently a work in progress to give us more options on Motherboards/CPUs: https://forums.arcade-museum.com/th...ow-to-run-on-a-modern-pc.513527/#post-4584710

I deff have fixed 2 out of 3 of my diego boards, 1 i had to steal the serial chip and the other one that works with the serial connection because another board i had, those 2 chips were bad, the diego board i stole from also had video issues, but it was easier to replace the serial chips. However the links you posted here, congrats on that accomplishment! Im thrilles to see you got it working on another mother board, and a sound card! I have another mother board of the same model of the factory hydro thunder, i got it off ebay, but it is missing everything in the sound section from the board, but the board works and it boots hydro thunder, minus the sound.

That's awesome! Nice work on keeping so many boards alive! I don't know if I'd ever sink my teeth into reverse engineering the Diego board, but maybe one day.

Thanks! Based on what you just said, you'd only have to perform a very small modification from that document if you can get your hands on a Yamaha PCI sound card. I've only tested with a YMF724 but there are a couple others that, presumably, should work.
