I've got a general question about spraying with an HVLP gun. Is it necessary to mask the T-molding slot before priming or painting with an HVPL gun? Is there any risk / concern about cabinet swelling if the T-molding slot isn't masked off. I'm getting ready to paint my Spy Hunter and this will be the first time I've used an HVLP gun. I haven't been able to find anything on the forum explicitly about this question, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

i never do.. the paint hekps the t moulding fit tighter...

of course, if your that worried, just mask it off...

what kind of paint are you slinging?

make sure to practice on some cardboard or a well etc untill you get the hang of what distance to be, get your back and fourth technique down etc..

also youd rather run your practice paint then when your painting for real...

Paint it all. . . . If you mask it off you will run the chance of seeing bare wood later on, been there done that. . .
