I am picking up some test gear as I am just making uneducated guesses half the time
trying to fix my cabinets. I need to learn more and I cant do that without tools/information.

I am picking up an Oscilliscope, Logic Probe, I have a good digital multimeter already.

I see people talk about using a HV probe to measure the HV curcuits in CRTs.
I assume you are talking about probe that replaces one of the probes on my
multimeter and reduces the voltage to a level the MM can read.

What probes do you recommend?

Thanks,

Great links / Prices Ken :)

I scored a 1000/1 probe off eBay recently for <$10.00 Plus freight

I had to wait a month or so for one to come up, then 2 came up

Yes it plugs into your multimeter and puts out 1/1000th of the voltage, so you select a suitable voltage scale.

Or if you buy the one Ken linked to (1st link) it reads directly, which is preferred I imagine :D

I personally prefer the HV probes w/ the meters built in, but the others are fine as well. Just make sure your multimeter has an input impedance of at least 10Mohm. I'd just keep an eye on ebay and pick one up cheap, unless you need it now.
