Original Pioneer Disc player... my first non Daphne LD game

now what?

Awesome game, and HUO is amazing. Let's see the rest of the lineup...

Great game! And HUO? Freaking awesome.

But, what does he go and do?..... snaps photos with the camera that has left-over taco grease all over the lens. hahahahaahaaaaaaa!

Dragon's Lair and I had a bad run in back sometime in 1982. I put in $.50 and died very fast. I think that I have played it once since then. Even so, getting a HUO Dragon's Lair is cause for celebration. Having the original Pioneer LD player with no mods is equally amazing.

Same story here. It started with the scene where the ropes are on fire. No matter what I did I died. It was a grim moment at Showbiz Pizza. I then walked over to Rampage and began to demolish some buildings and it made me feel much better.

I tried Dragon's Lair at Funspot for a second time almost 30 years later and the same thing happened... :)

Wow, a HUO Dragon's Lair? Sweet! What's the story on it?

And I don't think I've seen many of these running the original LD player. Congrats!

The only thing to remember with the LD players are

1. never bump or kick the game while playing
2. do regular maintenance.. like cleaning and change the cabinet airfilter.

If it ever breaks down..like the belts wear out.. then contact this guy.

Wow a nice not mistreated original one and totally a rare find. Me and Dragon's Lair go way back(me and my dad used to play 2 player) but the last time I played with an Arcade version was when they did the 25th anniversary reissue machines. I was helping to pick up my brother at the GA Tech student center when I saw it just sitting there(Also around that time I'd been playing Dragon's Lair CD[dos]). I had a few quarters and some time to kill so I started playing and made it past 1-2 rooms but my timing was way off from the kid who used to play in the 1980s and the CD version(which didn't quite have the same timing as the arcade). The college kid watching the place told me "don't waste your time on that" so I had to explain to him how Dragon's Lair worked mostly by saying: "it's a big game of simon says and I know some of the rooms."

My Dragons Lair had the original Pioneer LD player in it when I obtained it. The original player worked fine, but I had decided to replace it with a LDV8000, with a Lasercon card. I'm sure some people will argue on that...but I wanted to preserve the original "working" player, and just use the faster more readily available laserdisc player for running it in the gameroom. The original players are hard to find working, so I want mine to stay that way:)

Friend of mine bought it NIB from his friend who was a distributor BITD
Times are tough, he needed the cash, came to the bank of Knucklez.

Lucky I had some cheddar left from that video shoot I did for that deathcore band a few weeks back.

God Bless America
