HUO Asteroids - Craigslist Find

I usually do not post prices but in this case the game will only be sold by my surviving wife or kids....if you know what I mean.

So with that I paid this asking price of $300....and then got the $100 surprise inside when I got it home.

The Arcade Gods were kind to me.

$300 was a steal for an Asteroids in that condition. $200 is ridiculous.

Well make sure you post some after pics when you are done restoring it.

Restore it...thats funny.

I am thinking of converting it to a 60in1. Maybe paint the sides black.

Just kidding

The $100 bill was given to my friend who spotted the craigslist ad and contacted the seller for me. Without him I would not have such a treasure. Yes I will be buying him many lunches and beers for quite a while.

Now I need to find a replacement Tempest for the one I lost.

I have always wondered that myself....#3 Decal...

I have to share what I found inside....remember it was in a teenagers room for 10 years.

LOL

Another mystery is the "3" decal on the coinbox. Doubt that was factory.

I have owned quite a few Asteroids machines throughout the years....and have always wondered the same thing about the #3 decal in the same position on the coin bucket. The one pictured was serial # 25,125 and another machine was within 10 numbers and also had the #3 on the coin bucket - Strange!

That is freaky. Would love for someone to chime in to why this is.

Also cool that we have Asteroids so close in serial numbers

^That might be why actually. Especially if they had a bunch of these things all stacked up in different flavors.

Three coin shoots ... three ... not two ... but three. hahaahahahaaa ...

Well, since I have the Owl Eye door on mine(well, Lunar Lander... but same cab really).... mine only has a 2 slot bucket. But yeah, both of those with 3 on the back have 3 coin slot openings. Well spotted!

Just seeing this now. I had an Asteroids that I sold back in 2005 that had the same number 3 on the cash box. Now I'm curious as well. Picture is from around 2004 or 2005.

I traded for an all original Asteroids to use in building my Lunar Lander and it actually came with a coin door that had there coin slots and three coin mechs. I swapped it out for an owl eye door, but i still have the three slot door. I assume they just engineered a coin bucket that would work with all the different doors they used... less hassle that way...
