I know I know...."HUO"...people get all wound up over that term. So take it for what it is...here is an Asteroids I picked up today from a Craigslist ad. Thanks to a friend on mine for making this happen.

First, it is mint. Lower edges are razor sharp, monitor has zero burn, sides are immaculate, control panel is sexy, bezel and rock bezel are perfect, and the cherry is the coin door with counters reading "50" and "18".

Only story I got was the seller bought it 10 years ago and put it in his teenager son's room where it was rarely played.

It is by far the best Asteroids I have seen since dealing in games from 1982.

I will take more pics tomorrow but I am so happy to give this gem a forever home.

LOL! I was grabbing my lunch at the strip center behind my office and saw your truck with the Asteroids driving off! I was like damn look at that clean CP! Too funny....

I don't believe that's HUO...

Do you have pics of the box?

Seriously sweet find!

:D

Side was protected from being scratched.

Here is a pic of the serial number tag. Nothing special.

And some other pics.

The inside game pics are as found condition, no cleaning was done.

I reached out to the seller to see if he could share any history on the game and have not heard back from him. He is busy moving I believe. I am curious what the story is on this game and how it remained so unplayed. Asteroids was so commercially popular back in the day and few people bought games for their home.....stange. Plus it is not like the game broke and noone played it.....game works solid.

I have to share what I found inside....remember it was in a teenagers room for 10 years.

LOL

Another mystery is the "3" decal on the coinbox. Doubt that was factory.

47640 Asteroids uprights made.
Your serial number in the middle of that range.
Regular coin door.
I wonder when they stopped using the owl-door.

Needless, nice machine. Asteroids in such condition is a nice to have. Enjoy it (the game and not the extra DVDs). :)

Awesome find in great condition too.

The movies should be in the "things found in arcade machines" thread. :)
The money should be in the "most money found in arcade machines" thread. :)
