It was working when I had it. I sold it on eBay and now the customer says it displays a completely fuzzy screen. Scrambled with all sorts of colors. He has it set up on a gun for the tv. His ki1 works fine. Please someone help me. If not I am out a lot of money. I know it worked if not I would Have never sold it.

Did you sell the game to someone locally where you can physically drive to that persons house to verify that it's not working, or that you can fix it ?

When you transport a game weather it's done via a professional shipping company or tossing it into an SUV sometimes things become loose. I would see what this persons knowledge is on trying to walk them through.

Maybe a chip just needs to be re-seated, possibly a molex connector came loose. It's probably something simple especially if you said it was verified working before leaving your place. Did you mark the PCB serial number to make sure he's not trying to swap in a bad board purposely ? Does KI1 AND KI2 Use the same pinout ? if so have him switch the boards and see if it's a board issue... than the power supply... than monitors. It's usually A, B, or C. I guess at that point the next thing would be for you to decide as a seller if you want to replace a certain item or take money off of the purchase if it's determined something isn't working. I would make sure you don't pay to ship the game if that's infact how it was sent, or if it was you can always put a claim in that's the benefit of using a professional shipping company. If the dude came to your house and it was working when he left and he verified it that's really his problem once it's out of your possession.

i sold it on ebay, and no it was not local. it is just the pcb. here is a picture of what is going on. he has it hooked up to his super gun

First thing I'd say is that it may have been "ESD'd" sitting on the carpet like that. I would also suggest telling the buyer to clean the edge connection. Not too sure that it's actually bad because I've never had success using that converter with MIDWAY boards.

I would tell him to reset all the dip switches to off and see if that makes a difference.

Okay I will let him know thank you!

yea the carpet, definitely no bueno. as i said in our e-mails, have him check to make sure the chips are fully socketed as well.

also he can feel free to pull the hard drive and cable as they can be ruled out and the board should boot without them it just won't boot the game.

what is the buyer's ebay id... I sold a KI1 that was fully working a while back and the SOB claimed i sent a non-working item, and I got a negative. Ebay being the shitheads they are sided with him. In my auction I even stated no troubleshooting, no warranty.

The person that bought my board was vr43000gt95.

All I have to say is do NOT give him a refund after seeing the board placed directly on the carpet. What an idiot.

now even if i do not give a refund, ebay will get it from me. i would really like to get it working for him. also now he got a blue rolling screen rather then the blotch... what cuold cause it?

I would take the negative feedback and not refund. Let PayPal rule if need be, but he put electronics on carpet with current running through them on top of that!

scrolling blue screen is good!!!

that means it's looking for and or checking the hard drive.

if the hard drive is hooked up then yea there's a problem with the drive or cable.
