One of the largest VGA CRT monitors ever produced. 126 pounds. For a very specific purpose, project code name: SEGA. The picture is so crisp and clear it almost brings me to tears. Can't wait to start next month.

On a side note. I can hear some arcing every few minutes. If anyone has any advice on a special case like this.

I have a 38" Proscan tube in storage somewhere.. Not great for arcade projects tho as it's 16:9. @ 216 pounds moving it is NOT fun.

Its the Proscan version of the RCA F38310.

I'm so jealous! That is AWESOME man! I'm guessing you are going to connect it to that Dreamcast via a DC VGA cable?

That, I am sure will be awesome, but imagine this.. RGB modding a Sega Genesis, using an RGB to VGA converter, and playing Road Rash on that thing with a nice sound system complete with a big sub-woofer cranked to 11!

Cool... we used to have those monitors at my high school. We'd bring in our Powerpoint 97 slides on floppies and present in front of the class on the Destination system.

Regarding the arcing... take a look around the flyback for metal with black burn marks, and bubbling on the plastic of the flyback. You may be able to insulate it with silicone caulk... though a lot of times the flyback just needs to be replaced, which may be difficult to find for something like this.

BITD, Gateway made a 800 X 600 36" VGA monitor. My old boss had one. It came as part of a bundle for one of the first home theater PC's. I think it weighed around 200 lbs.

I owned that TV too. Great picture, but man did it have power issues.

When I finally threw it away, the garbage man said: "Oh I'll get that." I said I'd help. Afterwards he said "Thanks!". The TV is closer to 350# and it is all the glass of the screen in the front 4" of the TV.

You put a perfectly good dreamcast on the dirt outside. You have disrespected sega.

I'm way ahead of you.

Genesis outputs RGB through Scart, you just need to get the scart cable for it. I play my Genesis this way though a Scart to HDMI converter/upscaleer and it looks great on an HDTV.

I've got an RGB SCART to VGA set up. Very clean and crisp and no lag. I love the look of VGA CRT. I have always been fascinated since I had one of the first PC DVD players in the 90s.
