HSN Pinball Game

Apparently Target sold it for $100 at one point. Now they sell this:

Junk. They keep reskinning these and selling them as "new" for kids and people who don't realize they can get the real thing. I used to have the original design years ago... generic space theme with some not a song song that was actually kind of catchy... loved it until, one day, after hitting the right flipper button normally hard (and I was like 8 so that wasn't even very hard) the damn flipper actually snapped at the base and flew out across the playfield, jamming in the spinner and making all the electronics make horrible sounds. Took off the "playfield glass" (plastic) and pulled it out, tried to superglue it back in but it wouldn't stay on. Eventually the spinner wore out and it wouldn't even spin anymore. This looks slightly different but it's also too close for comfort. I would proceed with caution (or buy a real pinball). I played a real pinball machine back when after getting the toy one and never touched the toy one again. Now I have a full sized I love and I'm getting a Tron when it comes out. Keep the money it takes to buy one for you and one of your friends and look for a good deal on a REAL machine.

I'd been thinking about getting one for my kids. These show up on CL regularly for $100 or less. But it just seems redundant. If they want to play pinball, they should play the real ones.

Unless I want to keep them away from my real ones....

When I was a kid I had (& still have) Tomy Atomic Pinball. It was sturdier, but the score mechanism sucked. I put batteried in it recently, but the solinoids in the bumpers are to weak.

I wouldn't waste my money on that machine, but I have never seen a decent pin sell for less than $800. My Baby Pac doesn't count :D

It's a child's toy. It doesn't play in the same league as commercial, coin op equipment.

LOL, no one said it was!

BTW, looks like Tomy released Atomic Pinball!

Now if someone would remake the Tabletop arcade machines, I miss my Ms Pac. I still have my Tomy Pac-Man puck shaped machine, and Galaxian 2 player.

Then why are you posting about it in the IAM/KLOV Coin-op Videogame, Pinball, Slot Machine, and EM Machine Forums?

Cause it is fun/interesting to look at this stuff. I had kids pinball back in the 80's and it is interesting to see what kids Pinball is like now.
