I picked one of these up a while ago. I thought it was complete but after looking over some pics and docs apparently the guy kept all the minigrabbers. I also appear to be missing that wire that leads from the probe to another minigrabber.
I found some minigrabbers on ebay and ordered 6 of them. But I'm going to have to find that wire with round hp connectors on it for the probe itself.
However, my main question is that I have a Tempest PCB I'm working on, and I'd like to learn how to use this Signature Analyzer. I think the Tempest docs have a section on hooking up a CAT box and has some signatures listed per IC and pin.
However I'm unsure where to clip the Start, Stop, Clock wires to get these signatures. Can someone help that's familiar with the hp 5006a and Atari/game pcb repair?
I used a multimeter on the X and Y outputs and no voltage at all is coming through. It plays completely blind with no video signals. I tried piggy backing all TL082's, 1495's and DAC08 with no success.

Well apparently I have a VSM digital fault somewhere. I get a long continuous tone on Self Test with no video. I attempted piggybacking with a known good 9114 throughout J3-M4. I've replaced M/P3 and R3 with a known good pair of Vector Roms. I replaced all the Eproms with known good. Tried swapping the CPU with known good, replaced and socketed the 1495's at A/B12, C12, A/B13, C13.
No X or Y output waveforms. Any help?

Ah, I found it. A broken trace between K2 and K5. Someone did a hack job on this before installing a 2114 and their soldering skills need some serious help.
Still though - really would like to learn to use this 5006a sometime.

So anyways, I managed to find a set of minigrabbers for it. There's only one more item I need to complete this and make it operational. The ground lead that connects to the data probe. Both ends have that tubular type round mini connector that just plugs in.
I don't know where I can find one of these wires as I have done some looking around. I suppose it'd help if I knew the proper name of the connector type.

Still looking for the ground lead that connects to the data probe. Both ends have that tubular type round mini connector that just plugs in.
I am not sure what kind of crimp terminals they are called. If I knew I could probably just make a wire for it.
