Hey All,
I have begun getting resets and occasionally lockups on my Star Wars. But in general, I think the game is very sound. I believe I have the problem tracked down to a cantankerous filter board with some connectors that are getting weak. My options are to remove the filter board, or look for a replacement. What would you do. I don't think anyone makes a reproduction, so its either another worn out one or nothing at all.

Heres whats been done to the game so far.
1. Rebuilt power Brick
2. Rebuilt AR-II (with sense mod)
3. Replaced the Edge connectors just this last week
4. Rebuilt the Ampliphone 25" with repro flyback and caps, and xisters....

Before I replaced the edge connector, I was getting exactly 5.1 DC out of the AR-II. Now its a little low. But I am pretty sure, the connector was causing some of my resets as well. Now, when I press on the filter board, the game will reset as well. So it may have been my problem all along. I may have to adjust the voltage up just slightly, but I would have figured the new edge connector would have let more voltage through instead of less. Any words of wisdom from the techies out there.

The easiest way to fix any desirable game is to give it to someone else. They'll post how they fixed it 5 minutes after they got it home.

If you need my address, PM me...

Replace the fuse block and power cord. Really! When I first got my SW it kept resetting and would occassionally blow fuses. The solution was the fuse block and I replaced the power cord for good measure. Sometimes it's the simple things...

Already rebuilt all the power supplys. Brick, regulator, big glue, fuseblock, power chord, AR-II. Like I said, I have it just about nailed. It almost has to be the filter board. Just don't know whether to get rid of the board, or look for another one. Shame it can't be rebuilt with new plugs. And it just recently started the rebooting and lock ups.

You can always plug the harness into the motherboard, without the filter board....see if the issues goes away.

It appears I owe Scott an apology. He was dead on with the fuse block. However, I had just replaced the blasted thing. I pulled it and saw where it was shorting at the fuse. Don't know why the fuse didn't pop already. At least now, I can hopefully get the bugs out of the system.

I am glad I could help. That is what's nice about these forums.... most of the time someone has seen the issue already. :)
