This is my first Bill Acceptor, it is a VFM2-L1 Mars. I have the pinout but I am still confused how to wire it because of the way it is labeled. How should I provide the 115VAC? Which pin should go to the coin switches? What does the "Reserved" do? Thanks for any help!

Mars VFM2-L1 Mars Pinout (The label on it says 117VAC but the manual says 115VAC??)
Pin1-Reserved
Pin2-Reserved
Pin3-Reserved
Pin4-Bill Acceptor-115VAC Hot (Power)
Pin5-Reserved
Pin6-Bill Acceptor-115VAC Neutral (Power)
Pin7-Credit Relay, Normally Open
Pin8-Credit Relay, Common
Pin9-Reserved

117, 115, 120 - whatever. That's your main line power coming in. Tap into it somewhere AFTER the power switch (so it turns off with the cab), then wire it up to Pin 4 and Pin 6. Then a wire from the coin switch ground to Pin 8. then a wire from the coin switch hot wire to Pin 7. If you don't already have a connector, you may have to build one. Reserved is not used.

Then it should work. You probably have to set some dip switches on it for max accept, 4-way, etc...

Thanks for the reply. I will wire the coin switch this afternoon. When you saw "tap" into it, do you mean wire the 115VAC wires to the switch?

FROM the switch. Basically, between the power switch / fuse and the game PSU, iso transformer, marquee lamp etc.

The 9-pin bill validator connector is rather standardized. If you have a connector near your coin door that matches, just use that.

Ok. I will try in acouple of hours when I get some time. Thanks for both of yalls help. I will reply an update on how it goes later.

Could yall walk me through this? I don't totally get what you mean. Should I hook the wires up from the switch or wire it into another wire connected to it? Which wires?

Edit: SUCCESS! -- That is all!

Thank you all!
