I have a janky DK that I'm trying to bring back to life. I finally collected all of the parts, but I'd like to test the PS before hooking it up to my board. The PS was hooked up to a Jamma board when I got it, and it did work then, so it should still work. I am buying a multimeter today, but I'm not exactly sure how to use it to test the PS. I've googled/searched, but most references I've seen have been to a switching PS. Any suggestions?

I had seen that, but wasn't sure about a couple things. Will the PS act correctly if the board isn't hooked up? I thought there might be an issue with load or resistance or something. Also, what is backprobing? I assume I touch the probes to the appropriate pins, but backprobing implied something different.

Sorry for being a noob, if there is something I should have read that I missed, point me in the right direction and I'll study up.

Connect the power supply to the wall outlet with the board set not connected to it. Then take your meter and check all molex connectors for the the correct voltage with the meter leads. Nintendo monitors use 100v so if you have the wrong voltage to it then u will blow the monitor. So just disconnect the molez connector to it for testing and be sure that you have 100v if its factory to it.
