I've bought the new Sega Multigame boardset (waiting for it to arrive so I don't really have it at the moment) too. I don't have all three soundboards as some of you do, but I do have the 'Universal' board from ST and 'Battlestar' sound board that I believe is for Space Fury. I've never used the board so I don't know if it works or not - I don't even remember where I got it, but I have one.

How can I test this to see if it is a working board? I currently have a working Star Trek (should I say that aloud?), so is it as simple as replacing the sound board with this one and firing it up?

Thx
Tom

PS anyone have a working 'Meatball' sound board they'd part with so I can complete my set?

At this point everyone is looking for the Battlestar and Meatball/Eliminator boards.

Hold them up to your ear (right or left, shouldn't matter)... do you hear anything?

Sorry, couldn't help it... :)

The only way I know of testing them is in a G80 cage with an appropriate program running that accesses them.

That is, a Star Trek CPU/EPROM combo can't be used to test a Space Fury or Eliminator sound board and vice versa.

Thanks! That's what I was looking for.

Now, given that I have a Clay C. Multi-Sega kit in my Star Trek, I wonder if the sound will work when I select Space Fury? I'm guessing it will....

Any thoughts?

I'm actually not... I'd rather have the all-in-one board and I figure I've waited this long so what's another month or two(or three or six)? ;)

It's all about instant gratification....

I haven't installed the kit yet, and only have the Star Trek sound board, so I too will be waiting. I went over to Vintage Arcade Superstore and Gene was nice enough to pull out his box of G80 boards to look through but he had no more eliminator/meatball or battlestar. I've tried the other G80 connections I have and no luck. Will have to wait for the new sound board....

Yes if you have Clay's kit installed and working then pull the Star Trek sound board out and replace it with the Battle Star board but you must leave the speech board in and connected as the sound from the sound board and speech boards are mixed together. Fire up the game and select Space Fury and if the Battle Star sound board is good you will hear sounds but the speech will still be Star Trek( Unless you have a Space Fury speech board installed), just like in my video as my Space Fury speech board went bad so I had the Star Trek speech board in wile I was playing Space Fury.
Start watching the video at 8 min's 33 sec into the video for Space Fury with Battle Star sound board and Star Trek speech board.
