How to swap black lead from old flyback to new flyback

Forgive me, it's been a while...

the black lead that comes from the flyback and goes into the white plastic female piece on the neckboard... how to do I get that wire out of there to replace with the new one? Is there a piece of that plastic that I need to pull back?

thanks in advance!

Saw a difference in my two Polos... here's a pic of what I'm talking about.

ive never done that kind of chassis but on the 4600 the plastic piece where your black wire goes into clips off.I should be the same

it takes some finesse to get that focus wire socket open lol. I've done it before, you have to really look closely at where it opens. the focus wire unlike most that just plug into a hole is actually soldered in too.

so I guess even if you break the damn thing off, you'll still have a working focus wire cause it solders in anyway lol

man, i tried and tried and was really scared I was gonna break either the plastic socket or the neck board. this really sucks! New HOT and Flyback and I can't test it because of the focus lead! whomp whomp

you shouldnt have to just rip it out, ths does not make seise to me. Stupid byoacers

haha, my sentiments exactly. I had to do this on that 27" chassis you gave me to scalp the flyback for my Area 51. I forget where exactly it pops open at, but I got it open. and hey, the flyback worked too. Happ stopped stocking them, so I was kinda fucked that day and took some chances lol.

EDIT: I stand corrected, I'm a fucking dickhead. I have no use for a 27" chassis, so I just cut the focus wire and restripped it instead lol. you'll observe on the back side of the neckboard though that there's a white pushpin like thing, you're supposed to pinch those together to pop it open I guess. I couldn't get mine to go cause it was a little chewed up and couldn't grip it well, and I was trying to do a speed repair (I capped it the day before, installed the used flyback the next day).
