How to Save a Williams????

So I have 2 Sinistar cabs now. But they are both similar in that both have the flaking and cracking the bottom. How do you fix that???
The base board is fine on both.
The artwork is excellent on these and I would like to restore them.

Yikes..that looks like rot. I'd cut the bottom/sides off until you get to good wood, then patch new wood in with some type of joint, biscuit joint would be good.

yup that's how i would go about that as well.
 
Damn, I was hoping I would not have to do that. The good news is that there are no graphics down there so I only have to paint it black.

Hope I don't have to cut too much off.
 
Yep, fill the wood up with filler and clamp away.. I've seen some people cover the bottom with a metal lip or black plastic 3-4 inches up.. Helps protect the base and also is a quick fix instead of having to repaint the sideart.
