I recently received a rubber kit for my Roy Clark cocktail pinball and it included a replacement rebound rubber (big brown disc). When I went to replace it, I noticed the old one was unremovable because the metal post was riveted on. Anyone else have experience replacing the rebound rubber with the riveted post? I might just have to rip off the bolt and then use a bolt/nut/washer combo if I can't think of a more elegant solution.

I replaced one this weekend on my sky jump. It is a brute force kind of thing. I used a pair of needle nose pliers on the old hard rubber and twisted, tweaked, tugged it over the rivet head with not that much force. The new one was much softer and slid right over the rivet head with ease.

Ok, I'll give that a try. The metal cap on the end of the post looks a lot bigger then the hole for the rubber, but I'll give it a try. Thanks again for the info.

Just razor the old one off, and add a drop of joy (or whatever dish soap) to the center and it will install nicely.

Well I mangled the metal pretty good getting the old one off and new one on, but after bending it back into shape it's all ready to go. Thanks for all the advice!

Yeh the old one is probably dried out and hardened up. Just take a single edge razor blade or box cutter and slice the old one off. The new ones are so much softer and more pliable.

Steve Young's Pinball Resource sells the rebound assembly complete if you want a nice looking brand new one.

I am going to be doing rings on my Roy Clark and my Take Five soon. Now I know what to look for on that issue.

Thanks

If you buy a kit from Marco be aware that my kit was missing one of the 2" rings. They're sending me one at no extra charge, but it's still annoying.
