I have to replace a neckboard on a 4600 that has a hole burned thru it and someone previously "repaired" it by soldering a wire to the board run and a pin on the other end going in to the yoke connector. SO I have never replaced a neckboard before. Looks straight forward aside from the tube socket. Does it just open up and the red wire come out???

On a side note does anyone have a 4600 neckboard to sell?

Haven't worked on this specific model, but yeah, there should be a plastic flap you can lift up which will release the wire.

the flyback & neckboard remove together. You unplug the big connector from neckboard to the main board. You unplug a small connector fromt the main board to the neck board. Then there are 2 ground wires you need to remove by taking off 2 screws.

I have not tried to make the change leaving the flyback, but it looks like some desoldering is needed.

I have a 4600 neckboard that should be good, the flyback I suspect is bad.
