How to remove animation motor and gears from Rowe CD-100?

Hi,

I have a Rowe CD-100 with a burnt out animation motor. I've found several places online that sell the replacement motor, but I can't figure out how to remove the old one...

There are two nuts holding the motor in place, but when I loosened them I see it is just a loose screw on the other side, and the main gear is in the way so I cant put a screwdriver to the top of the screw. I assume the gear needs to come off the motor first, but I do not know how to remove it. There are metal clips holding the transparent posts that the spinning CDs go on, but they look fragile and I do not want to break them. I am hoping someone can tell me how to safely disassemble the motor/gear assembly.

Also, all the gears are dried out (until now I didn't know plastic could dry out) and have shrunk, so the teeth don't interlock fully. I think I need to replace the 3 gears as well, but I have had no luck finding them online. If anyone knows where I can find them that would be helpful.

Thanks.

You remove the entire animation assembly from the jukebox and put it on your work bench. Four screws and unplug the lights connector and motor connector. The whole assembly comes right out to make it easy to work on.
