Hi,

I am learning to crimp tonight and put a couple of .093 molex sockets in a connector and I can't get the damn thing out now.

I just came back from Radio Shack and bought their .093 pin extractor but I still can't get the damn sockets out.

What am I missing?

I jam the extractor into the connector, hold onto the connector, and press the "button" on the extractor -- and it pushes on the socket -- but it doesn't come out.

???

In a pinch, a very small flat jewlers screwdriver, carefully press in on the 180 degree opposing metal tabs. Of course if your crimp base was made too wide that could be pressing against the nylon housing making it hard to remove.

Sort of rotate the tool around the pin. Not spin it, just a gentle angling of the tool around the pin while lightly pressing on the plunger. Takes some practice.

Muahahaha -- Peale, you're a genious.

It just popped right out using your trick. :)

Thanks guys -- I just made my first .093 molex power plug to mate with the receptacle from the wiring harness. :)
