Im building a MAME cab and Ive got the arcade VGA card and the monitor visual part
(RGB, ground, H,Vsync) done but I dont know how I should wire up the power supply to it.
I have an external power supply and original iso transformer that was with the monitor. Its a WG K7000. Should I just wire it up according to this diagram -
http://www.arcadefever.net/how-arcade-work/HOW-WORK-AN-ARCADE.html
Will I be okay following that? I have all the parts listed except the distribution block.
I just dont want to fry anything as I already have alot of time in this thing.
Thanks all.

Thanks. My marquee has its own plug already that will be going into a power strip so thats out of this equation. Do I absolutely need the distribution block or can I connect two wires together? One would go to the AC on the PS and one would go to the iso.
Also, what does FG stand for on the power supply? Thanks.

The distribution block is a neater way of distributing AC. You can run the wires like you mentioned. As for FG I believe that is a typo. It should be EG for Earth Ground.

Thanks alot for your help.
I appreciate it.

Edit- I looked at my PS and it actually says FG in that spot. I dont know what it stands for though but no biggie. I figured it was a ground.

I got everything hooked up but I have one last easy ? to make sure.
On the diagram link above, it doesnt clearly show where the FG wire goes from the PS.
I have a ground wire running from the monitor chassis to the spot labeled FG on the power supply. Is this right? Do I need to have the monitor chassis grounded to the earth ground instead or maybe just do both?
Thanks guys. Im eager to fire this thing up.

You can run the wire from the PS to the monitor frame. Just to confirm, you are talking about the ground wire/green wire from the power cord correct? This is the wire that goes to the "FG" input on the PS and would run to your monitor frame as well as the coin door and control panel.

As long as all the grounds tie together and reach the Earth Ground on the power cord then you are good.
The power cord earth ground in this particular diagram is the casing of the EMI filter.
(note the first ground point from the power cord being the mounting tab of the filter)

Okay thats exactly how I did it.
The monitor works but I cant get the Ultimarc CD to install now and the monitor goes blank after 10 sec. or so of the desktop showing.
Geez, this MAME stuff is harder than I thought.
But, this isnt the MAME forum so I thank you guys for your help. Now to figure this out.

WG K7000
I finally got the drivers installed and the picture looks absolutely wonderful now. There are a few faint jailbars on the very left but thats it. Only visible when the screen is black or dark.
Thanks for your help.
All I really have now is to wire up the control panel.

That's what I figured it was.
Gotta keep in mind the resolutions that the monitor is actually capable of.;)

That's a common issue on the K7000 from failing capacitors.
You should plan on doing a cap kit on it at some point and all that will clear up.

You can run the bulbs directly off the DC from your switcher if you want, or you can keep it separate and power them from their own transformer. I personally would go the latter route. Get a small filament transformer from Radio Shack and power the bulbs from that. This way, a short in the bulb socket won't take out your power supply. Most games were wired this way - they had a winding off the power transformer for the coin door lamps.

With either method, be sure to fuse the line from the transformer with a suitable fuse (add up the current draw of your lamps, round up to the next common fuse size.)

Only # I can find on the bulb is Christiana CIC 9000.
So I would run the wires from the PS (which spot) to the transformer to the bulbs?
