Maby this has been said before, but, a picture say more than a 1000 words - or a link for that matter...

Please, post the picture(s) instead of the link to the picture(s) - if you bothered copying the link address, why not put it in a couple of [] so they will be shown?

A quick 101 in posting a pic:

Thank you :)

i normally only post a link instead of the pic if it's a extremely large image (2500x1932) many times i just make a resized image file and upload that just to be nice to the peeps on comcast and dial up ;-)

Sometimes i'm lazy tho or want the full sized image so inc the link.

I hate attachments.

The attachments aren't really annoying to me. I have no problem clicking on a thumbnail to see the full size image. What I absolutely freaking hate is the stupid, bassackwards method the forum likes to use to display the full size image. It grays out the forum, and opens the image in this little viewer thing in the center. Why, oh why can't it just open the image in the same window? You know, like a link to a JPEG file? Click on it, file opens. Done? Hit back. Simple. That stupid $%&# viewer crap annoys the hell out of me, and it shows up a lot more places than here. It's even more annoying when the image is larger than the current window, since it scales it, so you have to click on it AGAIN to view the whole image - this time it does it correctly, opening the JPEG file.

You came to the right place to hate then... It's amazing how many of these IT experts don't even know how to link a pic using the forum's features...

Thumbnails suck too... If a member is not logged in, they can't see pics. A large segment of the audience simply isn't seeing that oh-so-funny fat lady pic:rolleyes: We have one member who has been here for 10 years... outright refuses to learn how to post pics in a for sale thread...

Yeah, always get a kick out of the "must-see", "funny" vid links... Don't even look...

So the way I post pictures is to click on the "manage attachments" button, hit "browse" and then "upload" button and then post thread. Are you saying that when I log off other people will not see them or are you talking about a different way in posting pictures?

I always use the attachments, but I link the image (using the IMG tags) so it shows up full size in the post. There's a couple bad things about hotlinking offsite photos (which I do too), if someone takes the photo down, then it's gone (I hate that). If someone doesn't like you linking their photo, they can change it to something completely different (and possibly embarrassing ;) )
