Finishing my basement arcade and finally got the games down the stairs. The issue is there's a 90 degree turn halfway down and a wall at the end of the stairs which prevents the games from standing up. Tried to figure out a cost affective solution. Final came up with the only option. Hire 3 movers. Took five hours to move about 30 games. Still need to finish the other half of the basement so the games are stacked in the finish area.

What did that set ya back? If you don't mind me askin...

It didn't set his "back" back any. That is what is key here. Ok, bad joke.

I hired movers to move my games when we moved houses. Best moving decision I made. No hassle, no back injury. Cost me about $300

Black Widow, Gaplus, SMB, Tempest?, Star Wars, Police Trainer, Robotron, BurgerTime, Reactor, DK, Ms. Pacman, Qbert, and I'm not sure what's in the Atari System cabs. I know I missed a few more.

Just moved so I have around 15 years till we would sell and downsize after the kids are all out. At that point ganes come with the house. Lol

Going down sure is a lot easier than coming up...

I'm mostly a pin guy, I've seen some people build out stairs or small elevators from their basement that's pretty neat!

If anyone has any idea for an elevator / hatch etc let me know. Bilco door installation starts at 7k. Send pics of stairs later tonight

Your lucky they fit around the corner on the stairs. I lent a pinball machine to a coworker for a while while I was doing renovations and you couldn't set the game down on the landing to turn it. I had to completely remove the backbox (WPC pin). That's the only game he got LOL. After years of crappy moving issues with games in apts and rentals I bought a place with a walk-out basement. The worst part of it for me is that I have to drive down the hill to get to the back yard and can't do it in the winter and early spring. So games live elsewhere till the warmer months.

Smart move hiring movers. Ive done a 90 degree stairway once, going up. Never again unless its small and light or I get a stair climbing dolly.

Bilco doors are pricy but work great for basement access. The cheapest idea I can think of is to frame in a hatch, build a gantry out of 4x4's (4x6 for the beam) and use a winch to raise/lower the games.

My back door is in line with the basement stairs with over 10' at the bottom. Very easy to move stuff yet I keep all my games on the main floor.
